New Medical Technology
Keystone First – CHIP may cover new medical technologies such as procedures and equipment if requested by your child’s PCP or specialist. Keystone First – CHIP wants to make sure that new medical technologies are safe, effective, and right for your child before approving the service.
Keystone First – CHIP works with experts to guide us on new medical technology for our Enrollees. We work with medical practices and may offer new technology services to select Enrollees, such as remote patient monitoring. We have a team of doctors who review new medical technologies. They decide if new technologies should become covered services. We don’t cover investigational technologies, methods, and treatments still under research.
If you need more information on new medical technologies, please call Enrollee Services at 1-844-472-2447 (TTY 711).
